We understood that there were some cattle yarded which would not be offered until next week, but some of them were offered to-day, the high prices proving too great # temptation to owners to permit them to keep their cattle over for an uncertain market, even though with a good prospect of obtaining advanced rates. ‘The total number on" sale at the Washington yard, for the week, was 2,503 head; and at all the yards, 2,761 head, against 2,640 head last week. The demand was moderately active, and there were not eufficient on sale to satisfy toe existing wants of the trade.
