Mata will therefore be at once received here, THE GENERAL NEWSPAVER DESPATCH. ‘Wasnincron, April 12, 1859. The impression prevails that ex-Judge Barrett, of Pann- Sylvania, will be appointed Superintendent of Public Printing. Ex-Congressman Groesbeck of Obio, according to the epresentation of his most intimate frienis, has been of. fered, but declined, the appointment of Commissioner of Patents. Although the government hag nothing more than tele. graphic accounts concerning ‘he recognition of the Juares government by Mr, McLane, it gives full credit to the in- elligence. Enough has transpired to warrant the asser- tion, that Senor Mata will be received as Minister t> tho United States on his return to Washington. At the time Mr. McLane went to Mexico, General Miramon was re- presented to be in force before Vera Cruz, and the issue was doubtful. He went thither with the fuil under. granding, that if Miramon was defeated at that Point to recognise the liberal government—hence the determipation of bis action in the promises. It is understood here that the reason why Mr. Forsyth wa disiikea #8 United States Minister was, that by the recog. nition of the Zuloaga government, he rendered himecl unpopular with the liberal party, and hence it was con- eidered bis usefulness would be impaired.
