Ten Governois’ Anniversary. ‘The seventh anniversary of the organization of the Board of Ten Governors was otlebrated on Thursday, at the institutions cn Blackwell’s and Randall's Islands, with appropriate ceremonies, The present organization of the charitable institutions of this city was insticuted Moy 8, 1849, aad so ‘ar, is has appeared to work with ad- vantsge to all concerned. The mumber of paupers and oriminas has not increased in proportion to the increase of the inhabitants in the city, and the poor and diseased are better cared for now than evar before, ‘These are meny reports in circulsticn respecting the corrup'ion of the Governors, yet it must be contessed the institutions under their charge were never in # better condition. There are now over 6,000 persona in the institu‘ions, who cost the city abou! $1650 per week, head. Since the inauguration of the Board many extensive improve- ments havé been made.
