The Heaa.p of this morning contains an account of an earthquake in China on the 28th of Sept., 1854. On re- ference to our records we find that at 8 P. M., the even- ing previous, there was lightning, and on the 28th the tesoperature here rose to 80 degrees; at Glenwood cot- ‘tage, in term, to 85 degrees. The Haat account states that persons were sickened by the convulsion. Such was the case on the occurrence of an earthquake in the City of Mexico while occupied Dy American ¢ roops, on the 24 day of Oct., 1847, and the like result was experienced during the shock of an earthquake at Montreal, Canada, in Dec., 1844.
