ARRIVAL OF THE NORTH STAR. Commodor, Va cerbiit’s Pleasure Tiip~Ex- | traecdinary @crfo. mance of the Stoamer— | Buvopr, Asie, ait Africa Visttrd—ttecarn 10 New York=Tne Voyage ed tts Incidents, de , Ge. ‘The magnificent sian yacht Nortn Star, Commodore Vanderbilt, errived as ber berth in ths East river, foot Of Corisers street, sdout one o'clock yesterday after- moon when the Commodore, the ladies and gentlemen of his family, with numerous isvited and happy guests, wore salciy landed after their return from one of the mcet meg ifican’ly c mesived and happily performed plaasuie trips which was ever before undertakea. Upen the 20tb of lest May the North Star took her de partae from the shoves of America, and since that pe ricd rhe has steamed upwards of fifteen thousand miles, ina manner which bas e:rned for her an undeniable claim to be ranked as one of the proudest floating monu- ments of Our pars! superiority and engineering skill, Our copious extract’, taken from time to time from the Buropean jourzels, with regard to the progres, par- formarce, ani appearance cf the North Star, have no doub! recdered our resders quits familiar wi bh ber move- ments in forsign bardors; but her crowning feat in re- turning home deserves 4 special mention, and will, we are ofrtain, be borne in exduring remembrance by th® people. It is this:—Sisce the 26th of last August the North Star, without any extra pressure, and without any effort for quick time, has enabled her owner and the company on board with him to visit points of three quarters of the globe—in Asia, Africa and Europe—and return to the Uniied States. This isa marine feat for which we believe u0 persliel will be found recorded. Immediately atter the vessel cast anchor we despatched @ reporter to visit her. Notwithstandisg the hurry ard confusion which always attend the arrival of a large vessel in port—snd-despite the numbers of persons of all ages, rexes, and every rank, who crowded her decks and filled her cabins, in order to greet the owner, the ocm- mancer, the ladier, and the crew—the yacht was still im admirsble order, and very little disturbed from the splendid but ‘‘all-taut” trim in which we reported ber at the time of her departure. Through the kindness of the officers he was enabled to compile from the most au- theatic sources the folloving interesting and graphie reoord of the trip, a perusal of which will show our read. ers that during the voyage Commodore Vanderbilt has been brought in close contact witn the conservatism of Engiacd, the abzolutinm of Russia, the impzrialism of Turkey, and the ultramontavism of Rowe, snd that in each and every ixstance, both by his personal bearicg, ‘the appearance of his yacht, and his courteous liberality to strangers, he bas well austained the simple and solid republicanism of America ‘The following is » NABRATIVE OF THE VOYAGE.
