Having murdered their victim, and stolen several thousand dol. lars out of his store, they set out for the Atlantic Stater, via the Great American Desert. Sickness drove them back to Marysville, Cal., where they disposed of thei: mules, kc, They then came down to San Francisco, changed their names, and took steerage passage on board the Brother Jonathan. They were there discovered by Mr. John Mace, of Missouri, who had known them long bofo.e, when laboring in the mines at Volcano. Mr. Mace reported the case to one of the officers on board the boat, and subscqueatly toa few of the cabin passen gers. When the case became rips for examination, a committee of inquiry, consisting cf six, was appointed. Trey took down in writing the deposition of John Mace. The two mon, whose names were Sailor Harry and Joho Fox, were arrested and examinod. They tectified against each other, after much prevarication. They were then put in irons, under a guard, until the Brother Jonathan should return to San Francieco, to which place they would be conveyed.
