About the time I saw this publication I was informed tbat I myself had made an affidavit to the effect that I had had sexual intercourse with said Anna Demysey. I then remembered that several months before, whilet 1 was very much intox cited (I being in the habit cf drinking to excess), I wentto the office of said O'Conor, in Dey street. and saw a man write some- thing there, but I bad not then, nor have I now, any collection of making such an affidavit; mor could I, in my sober senses, have been induced to make such astate- ment respecting the said Anna Demp: On the con. trary, I have uniformly declared, and do now diclare, that I never bad cexuai intercourse with the said Anai; ard [solemnly declire that I was nee: seen ia bed with her by said Catherine Levin, or by aby other peraoa.
