At the first Board, Erie Railroad fell off }; percent; Harlem, 14; Long Island, (; New Jersey Zinc Company, %; Erie Income Bonds, ),; Reading Railroad, 34. Canton Company wentup 134 per cent. The heaviest stock on the list was Erie Railroad. There is a large amount of stock in the market, and the quantity preseing for sale must depress prices very materially. The annual report is completed, but, for reasons best known to the manage- ment, it will not be published before December. Those who have aceess to it will, of course, have an advantage in operating in the market. Speculators in Reading Railroad wre talking about @ dividend in January next. ‘Whether the company “ave earned a dividend or not, is doubtful; but, as regards the payment of it, everything depends upon where the stook is held at the time. Af ic — 3e in the right hands, a dividend will be declared, whether ene has been earned or not. Harlem was not so buoyant today. We donot understand how this stock is kept down, It is the cheapest railroad security in the street. ‘and must, before the lapse of many days, advance to a point near its actual value. The Erie Canal Packet Boat Company have declared a dividend of twenty per cent. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company have declared @ semi-annual dividend of four per cent @n the Washington branch of this road. ‘The receipts of the Housatonic Railroad Company for the month of September, 1851, amounted to $27,309 30, ageinst $23,456 49 for the corresponding month in 1850— showing an increase of $2,859 1, this year. For the half af the month ending on Wednesday $2.610,000 im gold were received at the Philadelphia wint for coinage.
