Retes for sterling bills have already depre- ciated, and the supply on the market largely increased. If this continues, the outward current of specie will sooa entirely cease, and our receipts of gold dust from Califor. nie will be retained for home consumption. As soon we can retain oll our remittances from California, we shell rapidly fill vp our banks, and add largely to the me- talie cireulation of the country.
