e CITY TRADE REPORT, Fuivay, September 22—6 P.M. + The flour market was heavy, and sales moderate, The lots ditposed of consisted chiefly of this State brands, including common and pure Genesee, Oswego, Ke.) with @ decline of 644 a 1234 per barrell, compared with previous sales, Wheat was heavy, and buyers Were offering less than was previously paid, which relleré were not dispored to concede, and hence sales were limited. Corn was in moderate demand, with sles within the tange of previous quotations. Meal Was in some better demand, and sales made at a slight improvement in prices. Rye and oats remained about the tame. Breapsturrs.—Flour—The sales footed up 6,000 a 7,000 bbis, in various lots, consisting chiefly of this State, Oswego, and other common brands, at $6 75, aud pure Genesee at $5 811) a $5 8734 ; 375 bbls. Ontario m'lls, seld at $5 75, and 400 a 500 Ohio round hoop, in low, at the fame price; Southera was quiet. and we only heard of 200 bbls. at $5 871; a $5 04. Wheat— Sales of 1,000 bushels common Genesee, were made at 13le ; 2 5U0 bushels common Goncsee on private terms; and 1.600 burhels Oblo, at 1230. Corn—The sales footed up ubout 30,000 bushels, in separate parcels, among which were about 8 000 a 10,000 bushels round yellow, at 69¢. a 70c,; 1,000 a 2000 do, high mixed, at Gdc.; 2500 do, do. at 65c., with several parcel: yellow, at 650 ; some lots of common mixed, at Aeail—Sales of about 700 a $00, chiefly Southern, were made at $3 26c. Corton.—The rales, to-day, amount to 1,200 bales at quite firm prices, The buik of the operations were tor export. the inquiry continues active, with farther sales of 1000 barrels Marsachusetts mackerel, at 9 25 @ $9 50 for No. 1, and $7 50 for No. 2. Dry cod ave improved, and sold at $2 75 to the extent of 00 quintils. In box herrings there is not much move- ment, rome 5000 are on the market, and can be bought right. . Fxurr.—Sales have been made of 100 cases Canton eeerved ginger, ut $6, six months; and 200 boxes ench lemons, at $4 50. Freicuts—-Cotton in square bales, to Liverpool, were reported taken, at 7-32d.; 7440. for corn in bags was refuted; for flour, 2s. 8d was demanded; for lard, 27x. 6d., and cheese, 828, 6d. Rates, however, were slack, on account of the prevailing disposition to wait for later steamer’s news. Hemr.—The baiance of the cargo of the Cincinnati, 1,400 Bales, was taken, (500 of which was taken for.ex- port.) at 8c. 6 months; 200 do. American dew rotted, at $147 50; and 40 tons Russia, in lots, at $205 a $210, tame time. Line —Sales of 2,500 barrels Thomaston were made, at 70c. a 720. ‘Nava1 Stones.—The operations of the day comprise 500 barrels crude turpentine, at $8 25; 200 do. spirits, at45c. » 47c., cash; 800 do. North county rosin, at 950,; and 150 do. white do, at $2 37} a $3 124. Provisions —Sales of 700 barrels mess were made, at $12 8734. There were buyers of prime pork at $9 8734, and sellers at $10 Lard was quiet, and we continua quotations at 8%0. a 9c. Beef—Mess, we quote, at $13 50, and prime at $6 25 a $6 50.
