BOWBAY RIOTING Siz More Hindus Killed in Fresh Ontburst Today Rombay, Indis, Feb. 8 UM — Bix Hindus were killed in a fresh out- break of Panthan-Hindu rioting here this morning. It was the sixth successive day of the disturbances. Assaults continued intermittently throughout last night and more troops and armed police were brought in early today to combat the situation. The base of the military opera- tions presented the spectacle of a huge armed camp, with armored cars everywhere in evidence. The fresh rioting set at naught overnight peace efforts, which it had been hoped had pacified the mobs. Today's fighting brought the total casualties to 47 dead and 345 wounded, of whom many may die. More Troops Arrive Arrival of additional heavy rein- forcements of troops has reassured the community somewhat and al- layed fears of continuation of the rioting. Today the soldiers could be seen everywhere. Lorries filled with them sped about the city streets. Strong machine gun parties were posted behind sandbag barricades at vari- ous strategic points. In an effort to bring about peace between the warring elements the leaders in the Hindu and Moslem communities accompanied by mem- bers of the municipal government Visited the disturbed areas Thursday. | Later at a meeting with influential citizens they formed a central ex ecutive committ €0 to organize peace | yyiogian’ cow, of the herd of the|formal dance given ) Hi il t New Hav Central Poor’ district of Luzerne | Haven rallroad clorks at New Haven |08, MU0 {15 SUB, WO3 200 SUeLh {duction record.
