§ YOUTH'S KILLER SEENS SUBNOSMAL Admits fo Cold Blooded Slaying of Little Boy Detroit, Dec. 7 (P—Unconcerned ——cven nonchalant—Peter Kudzin- owski, after confessing he had mis- treated and murdered a 7 year old boy and killed a fellow worker, told police last night he had attempted to abduct a small girl and a boy in New York city several months ago and voluntarily added details of the slaying of Joseph Storela, 7, in a swamp near Secaucus, N. J., Novem- ber 17, Police of Detroit and several New York' cities were cooperating this morning in efforts to learn whether Kudzinowski is responsible for the disappearance- of - other children whose fate is an inigma to police of the east, Brooklyn authorities' requested he be questioned concerning the disap- pearance two years ago of four year cld Billy Gaffney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund ‘Gaffney of Brooklyn. Despite long questioning, however, the 28 year old former section hand | ' reiterated time after time “Joe was the only boy I Killed.” Kudzinowski was arrested here for drunkenness. His actions in a cell aroused suspicion and questioning yesterday brought his confessions. Besides the murder of the boy, he admitted killing Harry Quinn, a fel- low worker, in Scranton, Pa. in March, 1924, After detailing to Inspector Fred Frahm his two unsuccessful attempts at abduction, Kudzinowski said: *I made up my mind Joe wouldn't get away. I fooled him and he didn't get loose like the other kids did.” Buys Him Candy After persuading the 'boy to ac- company him by taking him to a motion picture show and buying him candy, Kudzinowski said he and the oy took the tube to a swamp near Secaucus. His account of the crime ended with the unemotional asser- tion: “He yelled for his mother and I was afraid some one on the high- way might hear so I took out my pocket knife and cut his throat.” Late that night, he added, he caught a freight train to Scranton, then went to Buffalo and from there came to Detroit. He waived extradition last night and probably will be turned over to New Jersey officers today for return 10 Jersey City. Authorities at Scran- ton have not found the body of Quinn, and Kudzinowski last night| pleaded that his memory was hazy on the killing. Police say he appears subnormal mentally, although rational in con- versation, b o s wugine Ruined by Gen. Villa “gaired ‘Wichita, Kas, Dec. 7 hattered, war-scarred hulk rejuves, nated, No. 252, veteran locomotive oF Mexican revolutions, is ready for duty again, Belching black smoke as §t puffed up steep mountain grades, an- nounced by its weird whistle, this “iron horse” was once a famillar sight along the Orient railroad's reute in Mexico. . “Pancho® Villa, it is related in . the country where both the bandit 252 were well engine as & leader and No. Imown, wrecked the final stroke in a successful cam- paign against federal troops. Having defeated his enemies in Pattle, Villa burned a bridge, rald- «d "the train and sent No. 252 kurtling down the track. On a sparp curve, the locomotove jumped the rails and landed on its back in a creek bed. When the Mexican government had suppressed Villa's rebellion, one of its first acts was to rebuild the damaged Orient tracks and re- cover and overhaul No. 252, The engine was returned to the United States recently and in the rail- road’s shops at Wichita it was| & transtormed from a wood burner| § to am oil burner.
