Practically every member of the parfy in Berlin has signified her intention of being present. Invitations have also been sent to the vice-chairman of all the towns in the fifth senatorial district. Mrs, John Trumbull of Plainville, wife of the state's chict executiv and honorary president of the Re- publican Women's Fifth Senatorial District association, has been invit and 18 expected to be present. The affair will undoubtedly he o of the biggest attempts of its king ever held in this town. The inte est 18 growing daily and the com- mittee in charge is confident that the party will be a wonderful success. The home of Mrs. Scott is an ideal place for a large gathering of this kind because of the spaclous room. Tt 15 centrally located and guests from out of town can casily reach it. The club pre- sented an electric percolator to Miss Ruth Connolly, a member of the New Britain Welfare association, who is resigning and will be mar- ried. Her resignation is effective at the end of the month. Berlin Grange Whist Another card party will be held this evening at the Grange hall on ‘armington avenue at 8 o'clock. Tables of bridge, whist and setback will enjoyed. Vrizes will be awarded -the winners and refresh- The eommittee is in charge of C. M. Weldon and he will be assisted by Mrs, Willlam Sheldon, Mrs. Ada Watkins and E. B. Adams. The next meeting of the Grange will be held Tuesday, June 19, and nelghbor night will be observed with Middlatown and Cromwell Granges. Each visiting Grange will furnish two numbers en the pro- gram.
