In my selection I have consider- ed simplicity and color scheme to- gether with the arrangement and the number of articies on display, which when properly combined fulrlll their purpose, that of attract- ing the attention of the passerby. This window has these qualities very plainly shown. The gold tinted draperies to- gether with the deep red roses on the rich blue velvet set off the very attractive silverware which is being displayed. There is nol an exag- geration, such as is very easily overlooked, by placing too many ar- ticles in the window, Each plece is neatly arranged and they stand out i relfef from each other. The bright colored apples serve to sug- gest the eeason of the year. For these reasons I think that this display deserves to be called “The Best Store Window in Town,” together with the fact that it ac- eomplishes the purpose of a window display, namely that of attracting the aftention of the passerby. — Leon J. Neatness was one of the chief characteristics as well as good lighting effects. A background of tripical stenciled draping and graceful baskets of flowers enhanced the attractiveness and tended to bring out the velvety blackness and bronze tints so fashionable in foot- wear today. The hangings with thelr embroidered Roman Jamps and garlands of roses added a certain richness to the whole atmosphere. Thoughtfulness was also in complete evidence as the majority of the slip- pers had stockings of a contrasting ‘color to go with them. Show cards with attractive designs painted on them were in evidence in various parts of the window and did much toward the artistic development of Claude J.
