Grubar, New Britain, Other Winners In my opinion, the most attrac. tive and artistically decorated store window in town {s that in Garber Brothers furniture store. Having glven only one glance at the win- dow, one’s eye is immediately at- fracted Dby the delightful color scheme of the window. The color scheme {8 carried out in shades of yellow, brown and the natural maple tint. It is brought out even to the most minute detalls which| assist. in making the window all that a fastidious and artistic nature might desire. The subject of display is a very beautiful twin bedroom suite. The turniture is made of a very high grade of maple end {8 a Colonial period style, The background of the suite is a rich velvet of a golden brown tint. Even the dainty crystal lamps with the shades of pleated chintz, and the quaint mirror are very differ- ent from those ordinarily seen. The lighting eystem is without doubt, one of the best in any store in New Britain. All in ell, the window is so ar- tistic in style, and rich in quality, that I belleve I' may safely say that there {8 not & window in any store in New Britain to compete with it. —Ruth Goldetein. Yes, B. O. Porter's window. Which one? Why, the living room, of course, Didn’t you think it was the best window in the ‘“Better Window Contest?” I did. Why? It was a window one would not pass with.a casual glance, .but a window at which one would stop, 100k, and look again. You might ray, “It was just a living room." Yes, but it was a beautiful, well planned one. The living room is the heart of the home, the place where the fam. iy gathers after dinner. A living room should be cosy and home like. Could one be more &0 than B. C. Porter's with a fireplace, a deep divan, a cosy arm chair, many books, and lamps which, when lighted, throw a soft glow? The window, as a whole, was trimmed with such care that not one detail was lacking. People have stopped at B. C.| Porter's sometime this week and found themselves wanting a new lving room. Why had they just found that out? They have passed many windows In which a living room set was displayed, without wanting one like it. This is the an- swer. The window was &0 artistical- 1y trimmed that they did not pass it by, but they stopped, looked, and | then decided to enter the store. — Audrey Fagan. factor in drawing e window dis- An essentfal buvers is an attract play. as eve hant realizes.
