Hennessey in- vestigated the plans and withheld is- suing the permit until the building commissioners had opportunity to rule on it, In his report to the commissioners, Hennessey said that the spot on which it is proposed to erect the station is 104 feet away from the nearest church. The ordinance on filling sta- tions now reads that they shall not be established within 200 feet of a church. It eriginally provided for a distance of 500 feet but was changed to 100 feet and then it was revised | to 200 feet where it now stands.
