TRAINING SCHOOL OPENS New Britain Girl Scout Leaders Have HEALTH BOARD IN SESSION Salaries of Dr. Witte and Tony Cala- brese to Be Discussed With Budget | This Afternoon. Invited Eative Council to Join In Course of Instructions, Matters of finance will be the chief concern of the board of health when it holds its regular monthly session this afternoon at 4:45 o’clock. The regular monthly bills both of| the department and of New Britain| Sanitarium, will be offered for ap-| proval. The question of salary in- creases for Dr. C. W, Witte, inspector of meats, and of Tony Calabrese, jan- | itor at the slaughter house, will be| taken up. It is expected that a rec- ommendation will be drafted at that time for action by the common coun- cil at the December meeting. An in- formal discussion on the budget for| next year will be held. It is likely that a sub committee of the board will be named to work with Dr.| Richard W. Pullen, superintendent of | health, in preparing the statemeht of | cstimated expenses for next year, Mrs. Leon A.- Sprague, Girl Scout commissioner, Miss Iois Shaw, Girl Scout director, Mrs. Charles Spring and Miss Leonora 8. KFox, Girl Scout leaders, attended the training school under the direction of Miss Marion Trott, national instructor, at Hartford last evening. This course will be con- tinued and members of the local coun- cil have been invited to join. On December 5 the Connecticut e conference group of the Girl t organizatign will meet at the Business and Professional Women's club house in Hartford.
