W. Fagan Ater Tonr of Inspection Over Raral Route HIGH ROAD IN BAD SHAPE Bighinatti-Piedmont Nuptials—For- esters Hold Meeting—Lcgion Meet- ing Next Thursday—Community Entértainment Tonight. The roads in the town of Berlin are generally in good condition, accord- ing to Postmastar W. W. Fagan of Kensington, who made a trip of in- spection over the rural mail route yesterday, However, there is one road that is not in good condition and that is the High road,' as it is called, the thor- oughfate which begins on Kensington avenue at the New Britaln town line. This road, Mr. Fagan stated, has be- come during the past few years, filled with large stones which stick up through the roadbed, making passage over it difficut. The road, if kept in good condition, would be heavily traveled, due to the present one-way traffic on South Main street, New Britain, Few use it because of its condition, Enough has been paid, according to Mr, Ifagan, in the past few years, for cinders to be put on the road, to have -an excecllent' thorough- fare construeted. Cinders have been carted to the bad spots during the summer and when a heavy wind came along have been blown away. The Cat Hole road in Blue Hills is in much better condition than it has been in several years. Amiesite has been put in the holes and the bumps have ‘been smoothed over, Thet postmaster also spoke - of & section of the High Road near the American Paper Goods company, where there is a sharp turn, He said that the road at this turn has Leen converted into a serics of deep ruts, which make passage difficult, if not dangerous. He 1id that the curve is one of the worst sections of road in the town. Streets Need Repairs 1’ conjunction vAth the report on the roads given by Mr. IFaga tion has been called to the condition of Peck and Allen streets in Ken- sington. During the administration of William H. Gibney a wmacadam surface was put on these two streets, Since that time, according to reports, they have bheen hardly touched and as a result are badly in need of repairs.
