Stempien Gets High Schol- arship Ranking There Boston, Dee. 1.—~—Connecticut stu- dents from New Britain and vicinity who are studying at Boston Univer- sity are making a record both in scholarship and in college activities. Since Boston University has am enroll- ment of nearly 10,000 this year, high ranking in scholastic lists and the holding of class offices and other po- sitions of prominence are corregpond- ingly hard to attain. Martin F. Stempien of New Britain has been enrolled on the honor list for high scholarship at the College of Business Administration by Dean F. W. Lord. He is a member of the clags of 1924, Robert H. Dwyer of Manchester, Conn., a member of the class of 1925, is also enrolled on the College of Bus- iness Administration honor list. Bostan University has approximate- ly 1800 more students enrolled this all than at this time last year. The greatest increase has come in the School of Laws where 802 students are enrolled this year with an enter- ing clags of 347. This is partly true because of the fatt that this is the last year when a student can enter direct from High school, without col- lege preparation. Next year one year of college work will be required for entrance, and in 1925 two years of college work will be necessary. The Graduate school also has 22 per cent increase in enroliment. The roliment in its history with 193 stu- dents registered. The School of Re- ligious Iducation and the School of Education report an increase. A latge number of foreign students are enrolled this year, including stu- dents from China, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Deffmark, Armenia, Aus- +| tralla, South America, England, Scot- land, Wales, Portugal, Latvia, Italy, Korea, Greefe, Lithuania and ‘Russia.
