Second Section NEXT WEDNESDAY 1§ GRISIS IN ENGLAND On That Date Lloyd George May Submit Resignation London, March 3, (By The Asso- clated Press).—Wedngsday, March eighth, is the date set by Prime Min- ster Lloyd George for fulfillment of Ris ultimatum to Austen Chamberlain, according to a report in parliamen- tary circles, If by that day he has not received satisfactory assurances of the loyal support of the coalition econservatives, it is said, he will pre- scnt to the king his formal resigna- tion of the premiership, which he is now flgumllwlv carrying in his pocket. Numerous private meetings of poli- ticians vesterday, led to no authori- tative announcement of developments in the attempted solution of the diffi- culties between the premier and Mr. Chamberlain. *The determination berlain, T.ord Chancellor Birkenhead and other conservative leaders, to stand by Mr. Lloyd George, is un- shaken and the step will be taken in an attempt to bring their followers in line, which is awaited with much interest. of Mr. Cham- Cabinet Mecting. The cabinet met last night but as far as can be ascertained, did not deal with the crisis, transacting only state business. The anti-coalition newspapers say the storm raised by the premier's let- ter to Mr. Chamberlain, became worse yesterday, while Lloyd George's champions declare matters are im- proved. All agree, however, that nothing approaching & settlement has been reached and that the difficulties remain acute. T0 FREE SUSPECTS Unless There is New Evidence, Men Held in Taylor Murder Case will be Liberated. Tos Angeles, March 3.—Unless ad- ditional evidence against them {s oh- tained, the six men arrested here Tuesday on information, purporting to connect them with the murder of William Desmond Taylor, film direcc- tor, will be released today. Their release, it was said, would mean the police had abandoned plans to arrest a seventh man-——a motion picture actor—a possibility they an- nounced after a long questioning of Mrs. John Rupp, housekeeper for the men now in custody, who apprised the detectives of her belief they were involved in the Taylor murder, If the six men are eliminated from suspicion, the police said, they again will have before them only the prob- lem of trying to locate Edward 17, ds, missing former butler-secre- to Taylor.
