Interest in the classes has not been sufficient to warrant their con- tinuance, Chairman E. C. Goodwin of the special committee on evening school explained. One group, a type- writing class of 16. will be cared for at the Grammar school. A leave of absence was granted Miss Mary Kinlock, a teacher at the Smith school. Announcement has been made that the junior High school will open at the Grammar school January 31, the classes to be conducted on the top floor. The Nathan Hale school, it is expected will be ready for occupancy next September. Items for the hire of janitors and teachers for that school are included in the estimates for next year’s budget. The evning echool month of December, sented as follows: classes: Total 682, total report for the 1920, was pre- Americanization registration to date registravion at date 368, average attendance for December 211.23; cintinuation classes: {otal registration to date 469. total regis- tration at date 329, average atten- dance for December 262.10; special classes: total registration to date 213, total registration at date 101, average attendance for December 53.96. The report of the attendance de- partment for December 1920, was presented as follows:.
