Erbstein, Clarence Darrow and James ' Hamilton Lewis. $600,000,000 ‘KF!AO\ Southern Pacific Separates Its Vast Oil Interests. New York, Dec. 2.—The board of directors of the Southern Pacific company at a special meeting yester- day adopted the fina! plan to separate from its railroad properties the Cal- ifornia oil properties, valued by the government at $600,000,000, and the stock holdings in the Associated Oil company. The official ainouncement was made at 6 o'clock, after the San Francisco Exchange had closed. The plan provides that stockhold- ers of the Southern Pacific company registered on January 14 and holders of convertible bonds antedating Jan- uary 14 may subscribe at $15 a share to one share of the Pacific Oil company for each share of Southern ; Pacific stock so held.
