Mrs' Dumant did noi know whether the place had been disposed of or ihat her husband would bo found in Berlin, byt she took.the long | chance and was overjoyed to find that the house had not been sold, and her | husband still here. Mrs. Dumont has no more desire to return to England at least not until there is a surety of improved living conditions preferring | fo remain in the good old U. S. Much Ice Being Cut. loe is 'being cut all about town, every farmer putting his hired man to work getting in his next summer's supply. Bast Berlin ice is reported to be 10 inches thick and in one place ll-inch ice was cut. Mr, Austin in Berlin cut several tons yesterday and will continue as long as the weather permits. The seccond entertainment, in the Lyceum course will be presented at Athletic hall in Bast Berlin on Janu- ary 7.
