Socialistic Literature For allowing boys under 19 vears of age to loiter about their pool room and to play pool, John Davis and Peter Jacobs, proprietors of the Main pool room, were fined $25 and costs today, but Judge John H. Kirkham ordered that the fine be split between them because of circumstances which indicated that they had been deceived by several of the boys as regards their ages. Attorney P. F. McDonough ap- peared for them, and at his request the judge fixed bands at $100 in case of an appeal. Case Resulted From Another. The arrest and fining of the proprie- tors followed the investigation con- ducted by the detective bureau as a result of testimony presented Tuesday morning when Wadislaw Kovalski and Sargis Minatigan were charged with ulting one another. To prove that the stutements of one of the boys was conflicting with those made last Monday, Lawyer McDon- augh requested that Prosecutor Klett take the witness stand and he then uuestioned the prosecutor. The result was that the statements of the youth were proved incorrect. The accused said that they had questioned some of the boys and had mever seen the others in the rooms. A registratian card with a fictitious name was carried by one of them, they said, and for this reason he was able to successfully deceive them into allowing him to play.
