Cole, aged 48, of Cole, Ives and Davison, of New York, and formerly | vice president and general manager of | the Elmira Electric Railway and Light Co., of Elmira, N. Y., was found dead in a bathroom in the Nelson House here early today. Coroner Anderson, after an investigation said he believed Mr. Cole committed suicide. Mr. Cole‘reached here yesterday to visit H. M. Beuler, a prominent en- gineer. He had supper with Mr. Beuler and Edward E. Perkins, trea- surer of the Democratic state commit- tee. He retired at midnight and sev- eral hours later, was heard moving about in his room. Mr. Beuler stated that Mr. Cole’s death was accidental. He said Cole | had lost his sense of smell in an acei- | dent, and his life had frequently heen imperilled by that reason. A wife and two sons in New survive him. York, PUGILISTS HAVE HEARING. Face Charges in England Regarding Attempt to Get Unlawful Passport. London, Dec. 20, 11:52 a. m.—The charges preferred against two pugii- ists “Fighting Bob” Spencer and Aaron Brown, known as “Dixie Kid” were heard in Westminster police court today. Spencer is accused of having attempted unlawfully to ob- tain a passport from the American embassy to enable him to leave the country. It is alleged he represented himself as an American citizen, whereas, it is alleged, he is a British subject, born in Canada. Brown, who is an American, is charged with having signed Spencer’s application, vouching for its accuracy. The hearing W adjourned later in the day nntil ANTIS ARE.
