The witness said that her husband’s income averaged about §20,000 a year, some yvears going as high as $40,000, and in other yvears dropping to %10,000 testified, $6,000 a year to cover household expenses and from $3,000 to $4,000 a year for clothing. He also made expensive presents to her, giv- ing her the house in Westbury, N, Y., | where she now lives, and jewelry, the principle articles of which were a string of pedrls worth $4,000, a sap- | phire ring valued at $1,200 a diamond bar pin worth $1.200 and a diamond pin valued at '$150. .
