Changes in the leaders consisted of minor gains in United States Steel, the Harrimans and Amalgamated, with unimportant declines in Reading and St, Paul, A sale of 100 shares of United Dry Goods at 63, a fraction under its last quotation, was recorded. Prices manifested a downward trend in the early afternoon but re- covered later. Amalgamated was the feature of the more active stocks with a gain of a point on better prices for the metal. Bridgeport, July z.—Judge Tuttie in the civil superior court here has handed down a decision for the de- fense in the $30,000 damage suit of John Miiler of Chicago against Levi W. Yaggy of Plainfield, 1l Miller and Yaggy were boyhood friends in Plainfield. Miller sued Yagry, alleging that the latter hal induced him, by misrepresentations, to buy $260 shares in a Chicago mail order concern at $100 a share and that the stock was not worth nearly that much. Yaggy was traveling and & the officers with the papers in the suit found him in this city, where service was made. Yaggy has since died and his sons, as executors of his estate, were the real defendants, of CHOOLS.
