Augusta, Me., April 9.—As at the democratic and progressive state con- ventions held last month, the ques- tlon of prohibition appeared likely to occupy a leading place in the discus- sion at the republican state conven- |tion today. Since state officials are to | be. nominated at the primaries in June, the principal business was the ‘wdoption of a platform. Many of the delegates had previously expressed themeelves as in favor of a plank ‘urging national prohibition. The presiding officer was Congress- man John A. Petérs. An address on mational topics was expected from Congressman Patrick H, Kelley of Michigan. Wilson Policles Attacked. .
