' akeland | To Sons Of | aconics Veterars! — The E. Kirby Smith Camp, Sons of Veterans, earnestly inviteg every son of a Confederate soldier in Lakeland and the surrounding conn- [try to become a Y camp. We also urge all members of the camp to attend our meetings, and take a greater interest in thé work . We are sure you realize the fact that vour fathers were the greatest soldiers and patriots that ever trod ‘upon a field of battle. This being true, then honor them as such by uniting with us, and help in ou} noble work. By doing this, if father is living it will make him a much happier man In his declining days, and if he has “passed over the ri(ur and rests under the shade of the trees” with Lee, Jackson and Kirby Smith, it will say to the w orld, “\\"\‘ honor the great deeds and revere the precious memory of the noblest father of all the world."” It is not the purpose of our or- ganization to foster ill feeling to- ward any person, but our aims are high and our purposes nonle. We urge all members to be present at a meeting to be held at the City Hall next Friday evening at 7:30. Come, and let us do our part in helping our city entertain the grand old men who will soon be with us. V. W. STEPHENSON, Commander.
