JUST A LITILE TALK HOUT THE TELEGRAM It will be two years Saturday since the first issue of the Evening Tele- gram was published. As a natural and logical sequence | 1 ;| the paper will on that day enter upon § its third year. You could help the paper greatly if you could pay for this third year— to November 1st, 1914. If you can't pay the whole year now, perhaps you could pay six jmonths ahead. i Or, even thres months on the new I year would put you in mighty good ' standing. But, anyway, we KNOW you will not carry over any arrears to the |coming year. We believe you want to help us, be- cause we are helping ourselves. In- !cidentally, we are always trying to !'help you, also. | We started a daily paper in the iface of the advice of friends who {thought the experiment foolish-—and !we made good. | Haml work—and, maybe, a little [ crehome ¢emmeq the trick. Tt apnears that s from the outsid chauffeur, who was seriously injured, the car al ing several bullets, some went through the garace and broke a window pane in an adjoining house, Such proceedin?s are to say the least unusual in Lakeland and Mr. Jordan is determined to find the miscreant, hence the large reward. of which Mr. S. H. Bowman, of the Bow- man Realty Co., of Huntington, W. Va., came down yesterday on a few days’ business visit. Mr. Bowman, always a Lakeland booster, is per- fectly carried away with the im- provements that have been maide in the past year. Tt will be remem- bered that on several occasions three or four years ago, Mr. Bowman made speeches preceding the sales of lots, which his company held in Dixieland, and in these he prophesied a brilliant future for the city. Even his word pictures, beautiful to dwell upon at that time as something to be greatly desired but - hardly thought obtain- able, have been more than realized, and he is naturally much gratified at the progress and continuous growth that is evident on every hand in Lakeland. §5—FINE PICTURES—5 and VAUDEVILLE TONIGHT JACK DAVIS CHARACTER COMEDIAN PICTURES THE GIRL SPY y A 2-Reel War Feature, Exciting and Thrilling.
