A few of the immediate neighbors assem- bled and, after visiting together, all bade: the family goodby. Mr. Pow- ers, having sold his place, has gone to Adrain, Mich., to take a position with the Van Camp condensery. Mrs. Paton Skinner has gone to spend a week with her sister. Mr. Bowden, who has been at work with Dr. Sylvester, has gone to Georgia to visit his home folks. Miss Alma Wilder was at home over Sunday. She is teaching school at Kathleen. Mrs. George Pearce and Miss Liz- zie were callers at the home of Mrs. Lowery on Tuesday. Died, at her home on Lake qu- lingsworth, on Saturday, the 2nd of August, at 8:30 p m.,, Mrs. J. H. Beasley. This-sad death came as .a shock to the entire community as she had had no sickness but passed away quietly. Deceased was a fine Christian woman, loved and respect. ed by all who knew her. The funeral services were held at the Gapway church and were conducted by Dr. Gavin in the absence of her own pastor, Rov. Jenkins.
