‘Society — Personals — News Of Interest To Women SUE JONES, Editor Tuesday, December 21, 1954 THE KEY WEST CITIZEN Page 3 Exemplar Chapter’s Christmas Party Is Most Enjoyable Affair Members of Xi Alpha Theata Exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi entertained their husbands and other guests at the chapter’s first Christmas party held on Saturday evening, December 18, Hostess for the delightful affair was Mrs. Edward Toppino, so- cial committee chairman. Guests who began arriving at the Toppino home, 2717 Seidenberg Avenue at 8:30, were greeted by the strains of Christmas carols. Traditional Christmas ° decora- tions were used throughout the home adding to the festive air of the holiday season. Cocktails pre ed the buffet supper which was served at 10:00. A beautifully appointed buffet sup- per table was set in the dining room where guests enjoyed a tur- key buffet followed by coffee. Those attending departed at a late hour declaring that the party was one of the most sponsored by the chapter to date. The party was held on Sunday afternoon at the post home. Santa made a special visit to give the children presents, fruits and Christmas stockings. The youngsters particularly en- joyed the antics of the big white dog owned by Mr. Rubin who went through his repertoire of tricks much to the amusement of the chil- dren. They were also shown a cowboy movie as part of the afternoon’s entertainment. The post home was gaily decorat- ed with a Christmas tree and other seasonal decorations. Fruit cake, Christmas cookies and hot chocolate were served. Eula Sawyer served as chairman of the party assisted by Edith Ari- tis and Abdulia Garcia. The VFW and Auxiliary will give a party for the guests at the Old Folks Home tomorrow night. There will be entertainment and gifts. Refreshments will be served. Ruth Higgs is chairman for this party. Movable type for printing was made from clay in China about 1040 A. D. BPO Does To Have Holiday Party The B. P. O. Does will hold their annual Christmas party Wednesday night in the Annex of the Elks Club, starting at 9 p. m. for the convenience of those members who are observing the late Christmas closing hours. Each member is invited to bring a feminine guest, and gifts to” ex- change with those who attend. An enjoyable program of Christ- mas music has been planned, and refreshments will be served. | All members are urged to join their friends in celebrating the holi- day season.
