Lorraine Wood, president, open ed the meeting and following the reading of the minutes of the pre vious meeting by Marge Warner, introduced Mrs. Ida°Gellrich who s poke briefly of the Key West Art and Historical Society, its function s and aims for the museum and art gallery at. East Martello Tower. Memberships were accepted into’ the society and club members were invited to visit the gallery. Welfare chairman, Marge War- ner, announced that the welfare committee had distributed Thanks- baskets to several families. The baskets contained hams, can- ned vegetables, fruit, nuts and different staples. “Betty Willis spoke briefly on the aims of the survey now being con- ducted by the Woman’s Club and the state mental health association for the purpose of determining the number of exceptional children in the community The two groups were asked by the state legislature at its last ses- sion to make the survey for the purpose of compiling information on which the legislature can base appropriations fer the expansion of existing facilities. A check for $150 will be pre- sented next week to the Communi- ty Chest.
