DAV Eric Curry spoke to the group and said that funds from these sales are used to help dis- abled veterans, During the meeting, Nan Villar- eal was installed as senior vice President of the local unit, and Dol- ly was nominated for conductress, The unit also made plans for a Spanish supper on May 22 from 6 to 9 p. m., and a cake and candy sale next month. Mrs. Ruth Parks was named as general chairman of the VFW Ba- zaar to be held in the future, The auxiliary will have booths of hand- crafts, cakes, candies and will serve a supper during the Bazaar. The auxiliary plans to make this the most outstanding bazaar ever held in this city, and to make it an annual affair. The unit’s honorary Gold Star Mother, Mrs. Louisa Walterson was welcomed back after a year of severe illness. A new member, Mrs. Clara Os- trum was given her obligation vows. , The president Leah Wood, pre- sided at the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary, Chris Schribner and approved by the unit. After the meeting was adjourn- ed, refreshments weré served by Eula Sawyer. .
