THE FLORIDA.KEYS AQUEDUCT COMMISSION emphatically denies that this body plans to float a $14,000,000 bond issue for a new water line from Florida City to Key West. If such a bond issue was planned, this body would certainly have issued an authorized story to the local newspaper. This Commission has definitely not entered into any contract or agreement to finance or con- struct a new water line. Coming on the eve of Tuesday’s election this is definitely another malicious attack on Bernie C. Papy in an effort to hurt him in his campaign. The Florida Keys Aqueduct Commission has nothing to hide. This Board appraised the public of its intent to submit to the voters the bond issue which was defeated and this body certainly would have advised the people of Monroe County if an- other bond issue was planned. FLORIDA KEYS AQUEDUCT COMMISSION: Alonzo €othron, Chairman (Second District) LEVER 23-A Capable Aggressive (Pd. Pol. Adv.) YES! FACTS, NOT FICTION According to newspaper reports, its Manager, ERNEST RAMSEY, states that there has been no meeting of the Aqueduct Commission to consider the renewal of the $14,000,000 WATER BOND ISSUE. Yet a Marathon newspaper reports that the board’s CHAIRMAN, in TWO different interviews has said that the board is PLANNING THE BOND ISSUE. Also it states that the commission has renewed a bid to PURCHASE LAND NEAR FLORIDA CITY, with the BLESSING of REPRESENTATIVE BERNIE C. PAPY to go ahead with the plan. THIS IS THE SAME PLAN THAT PAPY URGED SO HEAT- EDLY LAST FALL AT TAVERNIER, MARATHON, THE WO- MAN’S CLUB IN KEY WEST, THE COUNTY COURT HOUSE, AND IN A FORUM OVER WKWF.
