Mort Captures Fourth Strat R. K. Hutching’s Two-Year-Old Has Copped Six Of Seven Races R. K. Hutching’s two-year-old puppy, Mort, who is fast becoming the hottest canine at the Key West Ken- nel Club, won another one last night when he bested! Hazy Moon and Foolish in a stirring finish duel. A heavy favorite when he went to the post, the frisky pup needed everything he had to cop the win against a blue ribbon field. Time was 32.4 seconds. The win was the fourth straight for Mort and his sixth in seven races at the Kennel Club. He finished second to Withwin on Feb. 10, which marked the only time he did not come in at the head of the pack. Mort is getting plenty of action’ at the track when it was announced today that he will go to the post again on Monday night when he will be matched with some top competition including Julienne and Wilshire, both of whom have good blood and have shown some real speed in racing thus far in the meeting. The balance of the field will be made up of: Some Mix, Senor Sensation, Run Mike Run, Last Summer and Whispering Charlie. Fans are looking forward to this race with interest. Last night was marked by heavy payoffs at the track when the Daily Double, Exciting and Taxes Me returned a healthy 151.40. In the feature race, Mort paid 3.80, 3.60 and 2.60. Hazy Moon re- turned 9.20 and 3.20 while Foolish paid 2.40. The first race Quiniela paid a whopping 129.40. Post time tonight is 8:15 p. m.
