FBI.Checks Into Girl’s Marriage To Four Soldiers DENVER (® — The FBI here took an interest in the story of Shirley, 20-year-old Michigan girl who told Denver police she’s mar- ried four soldiers but divorced only one. Federal agents said they want to know if she’s received any government dependency allotment checks illegally. Shirley, who asks “what can you do when you get an impulse”, is in a Denver jail on a petty theft complaint. She is*docketed as Mrs. Shirley Diane Barton Girvin. She orally admitted taking a_ girl friend’s billfold. Shirley added she has more trouble with boy friends and told police this story because she wanted to “‘start getting it straightened out.” She married Donald Girvin of Mount Pleasant, Mich., her home town, in 1948, Before their divorce became final in August, 1950, she married Garner King, a soldier she met in Louisville, Ky., and Bernard Campbell, another soldier and home town friend. Husband No. 4 is Tommy Whited, introduced by Girvin. She followed Whited and Girvin from Alabama to Denver. They're both stationed at Lowry Air Base here. “There’s not a chance of recon- ciliation,” said Girvin. “Ditto,” Vengeance Is Suggested For Katyn Killing WASHINGTON — A congres- sional committee recommended Monday that Soviet Russia be ar Taigned before the International Court on charges of murdering 15,- 000 Poles during World War Two in the Katyn Forest massacre. In a report to the House, a spe cial committee which investigated the killings in Eastern Russia said also that the incoming Con- gress should undertake an immedi- ate investigation of Communist atrocities against United Nations troops in Korea. * The committee spent more than a year investigating the disputed blame for the Katyn Forest atro- city. Both Russia and Nazi Germany have accused each other of the mass murders sometime after '1940. Graves containing the bodies of the Polish victims were discov- ered in the Katyn Forest near Smolensk by German troops in 1943. The committee said evidence taken in hearings in Washington and abroad pointed conclusively to Russian guilt. Its report went on to say that “similar atrocities and violations of international law” are being ited in Korea. “Communist tactics being used in Korea are identical to those followed at Katyn,” the report said. “Thus this committee believes that Congress should undertake an immediate investigation of the Ko- rean War atrocities in order that the evidence can be collected and the truth revealed to the American people and the free peoples of the world.” Chairman Madden (D-Ind), in a personal statement, accused Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko of seeking to cover up Russian guilt by his charges that the United States was murdering Communist war prisoners. Cross-State Turnpike Link May Be Dropped From Plans TALLAHASSEE #— Consulting engineers doubt the feasibility of including a cross-state link in the proposed Florida toll turnpike sys- tem, it was disclosed today. But Road Department Chairman Alfred McKethan still endorses the entire proposal for a Jacksonville- to-Miami expressway, with @ cross ing of the Improvement Commis- sign here today that Coverdale & Colpitts, New York consulting en- cast “doubt on the feasi- bility of financing end building the complete turnpike as a single project financed solely by its rev- enue bonds.” ‘The engineering firm, hired by the road department at the re- | et fietitious | Ga-| most remunerative part,” Mc Kethan said.
