Group Celebrates With Christmas Party Santa Claus was the center of attention with mystery as to iden- tity at the annual Christmas fete given by the W.S.CS. of Ley Memorial Methodist Church this past week at the home of Mrs. Charles Meyers, Staples Avenue. The party opened with a brief business session led by Mrs. Harry Richardson, president. She turned the program over to Miss Catherine Knowles and group singing of carols followed. Mrs. T. M. Curry, Jr., gave the Christ- mas prayer. A trio of singers, Mrs. Robert Gravel, Mrs. William Doughtry and Miss Knowles, sang “O Holy Night.” The original Christmas Story ‘was read by Mrs. Archie Roberts as it is in the second chapter of St. Luke in the Bible. Singing of “Silent Night” and a prayer elosed the program. “Secret-Sister” gifts were ex- changed and members found out who had been “Secret Sister” for the past year. Hostesses. serving were Mrs. Meyers, Mrs. Gravel, Mrs. John Milazarek, Mrs. Eugene Roberts, Mrs. Rupert Bramlett and Miss Knowles. Home-made Christmas candies, sandwiches, fruitcake and coffee were served. In addition to those mentionéd, Others attending included Mes- dames J. C. Harrington, Carl, Bill, Merrill Sands, Huston Brady, Maud Sawyer, J. Webb, Charles Arlen, Millon Roberts, Elizabeth Cruz, Leon Curry, Lawrence Hood, Grace Fallon, George Peterson, Lewis Menendez, and Miss Elizabeth Rosam. Guests were Mesdames Lou Bethel, Lloyd Goldston, Lyan Aulik, W. A. Langston, Kathryn Cates, Coral Cates and Mrs, Sara Spencer. Beats Off box BURKE, Va. The selections of the Nominating Committee were heartily approved by the members and all officers for the coming year were unanim- ously agreed upon.
