Page 4 THE KEY WEST CITIZEN SOCLETY Thursday, September 25, 1952 ——————. DOROTHY RAYMER, Society Editor Nitwit Nuptials Unite Nondescripts; Comical Capers To By MARGARET FORESMAN | That cute little Jack Nairn. will be “wed” to big strapping Ray Davis Friday night at Ft. Taylor. | If that isn’t enough to make you | want to go over to the club, will it entice you any to know that Bill Cockroft is going to be there disguised as an old maid with the charming name of Miss Nee- dza Mann? The hilarious skit portraying a womanless wedding is going to be enacted by the officers of the Surface Development group. The fellows got talked into doing this ; by their wives who wanted to have a party and thought the men should do their part. We don’t know how much coax- ing the girls had to do, but we do know that the fellows are in the thing up to their ears, and they are going to do a bang-up job of } entertaining the crowd when the show goes on at 9:30 p.m. The costumes, which Mary’ Fuller is helping the boys round up, will be out of this world—but we can’t say in the paper what world they will be in. Anyway we can promise you that the outfits the boys have on will be complete even to the bridal bouquet, and they will be the last word in fash- ions for the society wedding. Lee Sease is in charge of props. We've heard of weddings where the groom needed a prop, but we can’t let you know this for ahead just which of the men will need one Friday night. The wedding guests, mostly rela- tives of the bride who thought they’d never get the poor girl off their hands, will be ushered by Kek Kekewich. Some of the kin- folks who aim to be there are the bride’s aunt and uncle whom you may recognize as Glenn Mor- ris and Pete Buck. The happy “girl’s’ grandma and _prandpa, Ralph Martin and Scotty Terr- ill are going to see if they can make it to the doin’s, too. Of course Mrs. Oats, the bride’s mother, will be there to shed a few tears and if you think John Grischy won't make a good moth- er, just come and see. Stuart Mc- Kibbin will be Sis Eatzer Oats and we haven't found out yet what kin he or she is to the rest of the folks. Doug Swift may not act like Spencer Tracy did when he was “father of the bride” but he is going to give her away with fer- vor. ‘The attendants, maid of hon- or Jim Hugus and best man Jim Elwood, promise to do a jim-dan- dy job of helping the weddiing move along. We don’t know yet whether it is to be a double or single ring ceremony with which Bob Byers, Th-B., (that doesn’t stand for what you think it does) unites the couple. Whichever it is little Billy Nicol will be darling as the ring-bearer. We do hope he has | his little Lord Fauntleroy suit | cleaned for the affair. Other people you'll see at the | | \ Captivate Crowd wedding will be Mrs. Nosey Toad- vine whose resemblance to Jay Land will be more than coincid- ental; Overgaard); (Tec Sease) and Mr. Green (Dick Cochrane). Turnip They didn’t tell us whether the |; cocktail party which starts at 6:30 on the patio at Ft. The dinner is to be a Hawaiian | luau in the dining room, and be- |, fore the “wedding” there will be |: dancing. It is hoped that in a few years the situation will be eased, but through 1960 the load on the schools will continue to be heavy. The Superintendent stressed, how- ever, the very real need for a kin- dergarten program in schools in order that the pre-school age chil- dren can be given the opportunity to make adjustments to classroom situations.
