That remark came to mind by our read- ing in The Citizen on Thurs- day about the shipment of shark skins, livers and fins from Key West to be: used commercially. Another thought comes to mind: when a boy, on banks in the vicinity of Key West, we thought there were suf- ficient numbers of sea slugs to supply the world, if the world were disposed to eat them: The technical name is beche de mer, and the shape resembles a cucumber, and, were the color changed to green, it might be mistaken for that vegetable. In thosee days, . boys in Key West thought that the only use to which the beche de mere could be put was to “fight” squirting battles on the banks.
