The former sailor’s mother, Mrs. Inez Williams Watson, who h been in Key West since the trial here in November, will also leave Monday for the proceedings. In the event the motions of the defense are denied, Judge Holland will probably sentence the prison- er. His conviction of first de- gree murder without clemency makes the death sentence manda- tory. If Watson is sentenced, the defense will file an appeal to car- ry the case to the Circuit Court of Appeals at New Orleans. Watson is expected to be taken to Miami tomorrow from the Punta Gorda jail, where he has been confined pending further court action. The proceedings were scheduled for noon in order to allow the defense counsel time to ‘get to Miami and reach the court room. Sawyer will leave by the 7 a.m. express bus.
