In another official Class A opener, the Cocd Cola Earthquakes took a 20-19 deci- sion from Key West Transit Co. In a city girl’s league game the Catholic Youth Council trounced High School No. 2, 34 to 13. Haskins led the Raiders with 16 points while Ward’s six points paced the Radiomen. The Transit outfit took a 12-10 lead at half time and still led, 16-15, going into the final period. Lewin sank two free throws and B. Shoneck one in the final quarter for the Earthquakes while Barber scored from the floor and Sellers a foul shot for Transit to make it nip and tuck until P. Herrick of the Cokes shot a two-pointer which prov- ed to be the winning margin. In the feminine event Haskins of Catholic Youth Council was high scorer with 18 points while Saunders of the same team scor- ed 13, Pap‘s’ nine points set the pace for the school girls.
