Sawyer for the position of Clerk of the Circuit Court in the next Demo- cratic Primary. Mr. Sawyer is seeking the position on account of his ability to perform the duties of the office and because of his desire to serve the people of the community in which he was born and reared. When a young man Mr. Sawyer chose a business career and in prepara- tion for it atended the University Preparatory School at Stone Mountain, Ga., for two years cur- ing 1903 and 1904. Financial in- ability prevented him completing the course at the university and he spent the next year at East- man Business College and gradu- ated from there in 1906. He serv- ed as bookkeeper at the Gato Cigar company and served faith- fuliy until 1927 when the com- pany discontinued busimess.
