A resolution calling upon the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to report to the house the loans it has made during the first five months of its existence, was in- troduced by Representative Howard, democrat of Ne- braska. In the whole of Monroe county, 164 returns were filed. The six listed outside Key West wei placed under the heading of mis- cellaneous, These figures do not include re- turns which were filed but showed no taxable incomes, it was said at the bureau. There were 2,186 such returné in the state. Income taxes were paid by 28,- 133 persons in the state, or 1.92 percent of the-entire population. The average percentage of re- turns in the entire country was 3.01. Flori total contribution was $2,840,391 or 0.60 percent of the total collected in the country.
