E. Smith, local agent of the company, will place the steamship Comal on the run between New York, Key West and . Galveston, beginning the last of the month. The “William” is certainly a fine boat in which Chief Piuder naturally takes much pride. She is 40 feet long over all and has 12 foot beam. The in con- tains four berths, a combined kit- chen and dining room, refrigerator and lavatory, and the ‘cockpit measures 10 feet. The 19-foot roof of the cabin connects with @-pretty awning that will afford shade for a large number of pas- sengers. The hull is painted pure white with a strip of green mid- way along the sides, while the roof of the canopy is of a pleas shade of red. VETERAN SEAMAN DIES YESTERDAY HERE THIS AF- TERNOON Micajah B. Hendry, years, the venerable seaman who died yesterday at the local Marine} hospital, will be buried in’ the city cemetery this afternoon fol- lowing funeral service held in the Lopez chapel at 3:30 o’clock. Rev. L, Munro, pastor of the First Methodist church, will conduct the service, and the fuferal will be ander the direction of G. Frank Sawyer of the Lopez parlors. The deceased was a native of Mississippi, but was transferred! by the government from New Or-}| leans to Key West for the benefit of his,health. He had been in Key | West three years, 11 months and one day at the time of his death, and had been in the hospital prac- tically all the time.
