PAGE TWO VIOLINIST IN RECITAL HERE THIS EVENING EFREM ZIMBALIST, FAMOUS MUSICAL ARTIST, WILL AP- PEAR AT MONROE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM An entertainment that will -af- ford great pleasure to the music lovers of Key West, will be the recital to be given this evening in the auditorium of the - Monroe County High Sehool by Efrem Zimbalist, renowned violinist. The old-time fiddler, with his long hair, his -bad- manners and his ineoherent babble about his “baby,” has passed from the con- cert stage. The violinist of to- day is primarily a musician with a virtuoso command of his ‘in- strument, than there is no better exemplification of the modern violinist than Efrem Zimbalist, who will be heard here this eve- ning. Those who meet. Mr. Zimbalist personally will find him to be a smiling young man with a straightforward. manner of ad- dress and a certain reluctance to speak much of his successes. He is 2 musician who has no affecta- tions. i “The violinist of fiction,” he says, “undoubtedly had a basis day in fact, but fact has grown fast- er than fiction and I do not be- lieve that you will find any of the old-fashioned fiddlers appearing under high class auspices, i linist who wishes to be at his best always cannot waste time wth curious ways of dressing and the development of eccentric mannerisms, The practice of his instrument, the enlargement of hie repertoire, the broadening of his musicianship—these are his problems. And they consume al- most all of his time.” Efrem Zimbalist, who plays this evening at the High School, is famous for his violin but his musical activities d with his fine perform- violin music. M. Briand announcéd this af- ternoon that he was leaving. for Geneva Thursday. This was in- terpreted to mean that the make- up of the cabinet was already de- cided upon, with the exception of the post of finance minister, and that this would be filled late this evening or early tmorrow. ' The nucleus of the new cabi- jnet, according to the best infor- mation obtainable this afternoon will: bes Premier and Minister 6f For- eign Affairs, Aristide Briand. War Minister, Paul Painleve. Minister” of Marine, Géorges Leygues. There is a strong probability that Raoul Peret, formerspresi- dent of the chamber of deputies, will undertake the difficult task at the finance ministry. It is regarded as certain ~that Anatole de Monzie, minister of public works; M. Daniel-Vincent, minister of commerce; Antoine of hygiene; Paul Jourdan minister of pensions and Jean Durand, ‘minister of agriculture, will retain their port- folios, while the three radical ministers who voted against the government on the. financial bill are likely to be replaced. These three are Camille . Chautempts, minister of the interior; Edouard Daladier, minister of public in- struction, and M. Chauvin, n- der-secretary for liberated regions.
