Miss Katharine Doran spent the week end at her home in Grand Rapids. Geo. C. Gilbert of Virginia spent the week end in the village with his family. Miss Mary Harrington of Chis- holm was the week end guest of the Misses Young. Miss Gertrude Bawden spent the wweek end with her aunt, Mrs. Thos Edwards of Virginia, Mrs. Bollinger and daughter, V: ginia, have been Mrs. D. M. Ver- milyea’s guests recently. Mrs. R. G. Krueger went to her old home, Odessa, Minn., Tuesday on account of the illness of — her mother. Mr. Albert Munson who repre- sents the Bergesen Candy company of Superior, was a caller here Wednesday. Mr. Wm. Spinning was the guest of his nephew, C.S.Chase, Wednes- day. Mr. Helmer was looking over mining properties he owns near Calumet. The Holel Marble is soon to be} reopened. The furnace has been | overhauled and Mr. Butler has ar- rived to take charge of the hotel which pleases the Marble people very much. Marble Church Notes. Sunday school—10 a m. Mr. Wickmann desires that all interested in forming an adult bible class meet with him at the Sunday school hour. A helpful and interesting course of work is be- ing planned and the class should fill an important place in the Sun- dav school. Junior League will be held at 7 o'clock and the members are urged to bring their bibles. Evening preaching service at 8 o'clock. Invented A Horse Shoe. In the last report of patents is- sued to Minnesotans through the agency of D. Swift & Company of Washington is mention of one for Carl T. Zettervail of Brainerd. The report says simply a horse shoe.
