The people of Denmark are said to be the biggest breadeaters in the world. Nearly 100 fires have oc- curred in the last three weeks and all have been of incendiary origin. In fifty instances piles of petrol-soaked wood have been discovered in time to prevent damage. “That there is a campaign of organ- jzed arson in progress has been proved, but the police have not mande an arrest. The police and the fire in- surance companies are offering large rewards. “Yesterday fire was set to two of the finest houses in the diplomatic quarter. “The crimes are attributed to per- sons out of employment who hope to start a boom in the building trade.
