Investigation, however de- yeloped the fact that section 16 was irrevocably adopted by the old vill- age and must remain attached thereto. ao never age es Broruer Optic of Coleraine need bot fly into a violent passion in de- manding ofticial recognition of the miniog towns north of the county seat when next election day rolls Coleraine, Bovey, Taconite, Nashwauk and any others that may move in will be fully entitled to re- presentation and by all means should have it. They areall good towns, made up of a good class of tax-pay- ing citizens who are doing their full shar¢ to make Itasca county the richest in Minnesota. "round. — In ALL seriousness it is to be re- gretted that the publisher of the Itasca County Independent permits a pernicious influence to control the policy of his paper. For two whole George H. Spear, as county attorney, bent every energy to con- vict C. C. Miller ex-county treasurer, of malfeasance in office, but without Two of the strongest cases, in Spear’s estimation, were tried be— before juries, both resulting -in ace quittal. He spent thousands of dollars of the taxpayers money in bis prosecution of Miller. He could not make a case, and yet he continues to try Miller through the Independent in order to keep himself in the public eye and at the same time belittle Prose- euting Attorney Thwing. If Miller is guilty, as alleged, why did not Spear show the convicting facts to a jury? Asa matter of fact, the bond- ing company offered to settle certain alleged shortages rather than go to syurt, because it would éest the company that amount to defend in the case. Reliable bonding companies do not wish to contest claims. as such proceedings only has a tendency to injure their business reputation. This is the sequel tothe offer of settlement. For Sale.
