Mrs.Roosevelt Sees Benefit Circus Morgenthaus and Reeds Also Are Show Patrons Mrs. Roosevelt attended the gala performance of the indoor circus last evening in the Riverside Sta- dium, held for the benefit of the Children's Hospital. She was ac- companied by the Secretary of the ‘Treasury and Mrs. Henry Morgen- thau, jr.; Justice and Mrs. Stanley F. Reed and Mlle. Eve Curie, who is en route to her French home, and Mrs. Lewis Thompson of Red Bank, N. J, and Dr. Miriam Van Waters, guests overnight at the White House. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick H. Brooke were hosts at dinner last evening before the show, entertaining in honor of Representative and Mrs. Richard B. Wigglesworth. Mrs. Brooke has been actively interested in the hospital since girlhood, her interest having been inherited from her mother. Mrs. Knox Has Guests At Supper After Show. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bruce Howe, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Benning Spen- cer, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Perin and Mrs. McCook Knox took their dinner | guests to the circus, and Mrs. Knox, with a number of others, had guests at supper after the show at 2400 Sixteenth street. The dean of the diplomatic corps, the Peruvian Ambassador, Senor Don Manuel de Freyre y Santander, was among the guests of Mrs. Chauncey M. Depew, who also had with her in her box Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carroll Glover, jr. Miss Nancy Glover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glover, was hostess to a group of young people in her parents’ box. Besides Maj. Henry Leonard, who already has been named, the judges will be Mr. Willam H. Lipscomb and Mr. Wilbur Hub- bard of Chestertown, Md. Trophies for the trials have been offered by the Landon School, Mrs. William C. Hanson, Mrs. Randall Hagner and Dr. John H. Lyons. The former Secretary of State, Mr. Henry L. Stimson, has of- fered a trophy which must be won three times before being awarded. The Masters’ Plate is being offered by Dr. Fred San- derson and Mr. Harry Semmes. The events of the hunter trials will be broadcast by Col. Frank ‘Whitaker. Miss Virginia Miller Will Marry in June Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth A. Miller announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Virginia Dale Miller. to Mr. James Edward Nealon, of Washington, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Nealon of Washington. The wedding will take place in June, Miss Miller was graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1939 and is a member of the faculty of the Mount Vernon High School in Fairfax, Va.
